Very Good Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps 13 & 14 SEER - Outdoor Sections What does having a 13 or 14 SEER Air Conditioner or Heat Pump mean? Your air conditioner or heat pump’s efficiency is measured by a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER). The higher the SEER rating the more efficiently your unit operates. Increased efficiency translates into savings in utility costs. Your Tappan air conditioner or heat pump has been carefully designed and engineered to give you outstanding energy efficiency and years of trouble-free operation. No detail has been left out. The pedestal base is designed with built-in drain ports. This extra step helps resist corrosion by allowing rainwater and moisture to escape the unit. Just another “value added” manufacturing step built into all Tappan products. With this system, a indoor coil section is required if you have gas or oil heat. If you have a heat pump, then the matched air handler indoor section is required to complete the system.
Better Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps 14 & 15 SEER - Outdoor Sections What are the benefits of variable speed systems? A single stage air conditioner is sized to cool your home on the hottest day of the year. It delivers 100% of its cooling capacity at all times. When you install a Tappan air conditioner or heat pump with an indoor section featuring a GE ECMTM variable speed motor, you’ll experience better comfort and lower utility costs. Having a variable speed indoor section means that a Tappan 13 SEER outdoor unit operates at 14 SEER, and a 14 SEER outdoor unit operates at 15 SEER. The variable speed motor can save $150 per year plus another $240 in electrical costs when your thermostat is set for continuous fan operation. The air conditioner automatically maintains its programmed level of air flow regardless of dynamic changes in static pressure. Static pressure will change with a dirty air filter, zoning changes and obstructed supply registers as an example. Better indoor air quality is achieved quietly and inexpensively by setting the motor to run continuously at reduced air-flow levels between cooling cycles. The Tappan variable speed system also operates quieter than conventional motors, while reducing temperature swings, indoor moisture, and hot spots. Your Tappan air conditioner or heat pump has been carefully designed and engineered to give you outstanding energy efficiency and years of trouble-free operation. No detail has been left out. Tappan uses only proven components like the Copeland® scroll compressor. It’s the leaders choice for efficiency, durability, and longevity. Just another “value added” manufacturing step built into all Tappan products. With this system, a variable furnace and matched indoor coil section is required if you have gas or oil heat. If you have a heat pump, then the matched variable speed air handler indoor section is required to complete the system.

Best Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps 15-16 SEER Two-Stage Cooling - Outdoor Section Tech3TM Series Performance. Strictly Top-Of-The-Line. Tappan's Tech3 Series air conditioners and heat pumps are up-to-speed with the expectations of today's comfort-minded and energy-conscious consumer. Using the latest two-stage scroll compressor technology, it stands to reason that these air conditioners and heat pumps will cost more up front. But over the lifetime of your initial investment, they'll provide unparalleled comfort, quiet operation, and significant improvements in indoor air quality. Likewise, they'll pay back dividends providing energy savings worth hundreds of dollars per year along with reduced maintenance costs. Your Tappan air conditioner or heat pump has been carefully designed and engineered to give you outstanding energy efficiency and years of trouble-free operation. No detail has been left out. Tappan uses only proven components like the Ultra-tech Copeland® scroll compressor. It’s the leaders choice for efficiency, durability, and longevity. Just another “value added” manufacturing step built into all Tappan products. Two-Stage Technology That Quietly Up-Stages The Rest On mild days, which statistically average about 80% of the cooling season, a system that idles down to a reduced-cooling capacity improves comfort. Tappan's Tech3 SeriesTM two-stage systems are built with this purpose in mind. In the first stage, the air conditioner, or heat pump, uses approximately just 68% of its total capacity running more slowly, quietly and efficiently. Then, during the hottest extremes--a second stage boosts capacity ramping up gently to maximum speed. Ramping gradually through cooling cycles increase quiet performance. Since air is circulated at longer cycles more continuously, room temperatures are balanced and more comfortably mixed. Temperature swings are reduced to barely a couple of degrees and hot and cold spots are minimized. Best of all, by reducing energy consumption in the low-speed, a two-stage air conditioner, or heat pump, can also reduce your energy bills by hundreds of dollars each season. With this system, a variable gas or oil furnace and matched indoor coil section is required if you have gas or oil heat. If you have a heat pump, then the matched variable speed air handler indoor section is required to complete the system.
